⚠️ Important Notice
The authoritative source of truth for all MyHealth@EU terminology content is the MyHealth@EU Central Terminology Server. This FHIR package is provided solely as supporting material to facilitate FHIR-based implementations. In case of any discrepancy between this package and the Central Terminology Server, the Central Terminology Server prevails.

Scope

This package provides the MyHealth@EU Master Value Sets Catalog (MVC) — a centralized collection of eHDSI-prefixed value sets and code systems used across all MyHealth@EU domain-specific Implementation Guides.

It serves as the shared terminology foundation for:

  • ePrescription and eDispensation — active ingredients, dose forms, routes of administration, substitution codes.
  • Hospital Discharge Report — diagnoses, procedures, discharge dispositions, admission urgency.
  • Laboratory Report — lab codes, specimen types, observation interpretations, study types.
  • Vaccination — vaccines, target diseases, administration methods.
  • Medical Imaging — modalities, imaging procedures, imaging findings.
  • Patient Summary — allergies, medications, problems, social history, vital signs.

MyHealth@EU

MyHealth@EU is the European cross-border health data exchange infrastructure, enabling patients and health professionals to access and share health data across EU Member States.

This package operationalizes the eHDSI terminology requirements as HL7 FHIR value sets and code systems, providing a single versioned artifact that all MyHealth@EU domain IGs can depend on.

What is in this Package

This package includes:

  1. Value Sets — eHDSI-prefixed value sets binding clinical concepts to agreed external code systems (SNOMED CT, LOINC, ATC, EDQM, ICD-10, and others).
  2. Code Systems — a locally defined code system providing display labels for eHDSI-specific concepts where no suitable external code system exists.

See the About this guide page for further guidance on how to use this package.

Relationship to Other IGs

All MyHealth@EU domain-specific IGs depend on this package as a terminology dependency. The package is versioned independently, allowing terminology updates to be released without requiring changes to the domain IGs.
